Biography

Petre Abraham Smeu was born into a family of artists: his mother, a violinist, and his father, a theater director and writer. At the age of four, he began his musical studies under the guidance of his mother and Professor Grigori Nedobora, with whom he studied systematically for over a decade, before moving to Germany to continue his training.

In Spain, he studied at the Escuela de Altos Estudios Musicales (School of Advanced Musical Studies) in Santiago de Compostela. He continued his education in Germany, at the Hochschule für Musik Saar in Saarbrücken with Professor David Grimal, and at the Leopold Mozart College of Music in Augsburg with Professor Petru Munteanu. He is currently studying with Professor Baiba Skride at the same institution.

He plays a Gustave Bernardel violin from 1901, and one of his preferred bows for most of the classical repertoire is a Conrad Paul Schubert from 1914.

He has performed on stages throughout Europe, with concerts in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Romania, Switzerland, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Petre Abraham has refined his technique through masterclasses with renowned violinists such as Mihaela Martin, Marco Rizzi, Lev Chistyakov, Frank Peter Zimmermann, Liviu Prunaru, Alena Baeva, Tomasz Tomaszewski, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Hans-Peter Hofmann, and Gordan Nikolić.
